Almost Invisible
Teen years can be difficult, especially if you’re a teen who needs to wear metal braces. Let’s face it: no teen wants to go to the senior prom or the homecoming game wearing old-style braces. Fortunately, your teenager won’t have those worries with clear aligners.
At Texas Family Orthodontics, we allow you and your teenager to choose treatment with clear aligners. Our aligners work the same way as braces with a significant difference: aligner trays are virtually invisible.
These state-of-the-art aligners are removable. Although teens need to wear the trays for 22 hours a day, they can remove the trays when they eat or clean their teeth.
Whatever food your teen likes -popcorn, pizza, etc. - is not a problem with clear aligners. They’re also extremely comfortable compared to old-style metal braces. And they’re durable, too!
Each clear aligner is custom-made for your teen’s mouth. Dr. Vo will fit your teen with a new aligner tray every couple of weeks as your teen’s teeth gradually shift into their new positions.
At the end of their treatment, your teenager will have a straighter, more beautiful smile—all while never experiencing the embarrassment of metal braces.
Whether you play sports or a musical instrument, traditional metal braces can present some new challenges. It’s hard to perform at your best knowing you could get hit in the mouth with a ball or cut your lip trying to hit that note on the trumpet!
Clear aligners help you focus on doing what you do best-being a teen. At your initial consultation with Dr. Vo, you’ll find out if aligners are good fit for your smile and your lifestyle!
Dr. Vo and our entire team understand how to treat our teen patients with a gentle, caring attitude. We know how important it is to make each trip to our San Antonio and Windcrest office as pleasant as possible, and we go out of our way to do just that.
Not only are we experts at our jobs, but we’re also experts at making our teenage patients feel cared for and at ease.

Great for Active Teens
As a teenager, you should be able to participate in the activities you’re interested in while still having the confidence to attend social events and make lasting memories. You should also be able to get efficient orthodontic treatment for crowded teeth, uneven spacing, and bite issues.
Clear aligners for reens effectively straightens teeth the same way metal braces do. Clear aligners are an ideal choice for teens in San Antonio and Windcrest who play sports, play certain types of instruments, love crunchy foods, or are worried about how metal braces will look at homecoming or in the yearbook.
With the clear, comfortable technology of aligners and Dr. Vo’s expert care, teens can keep being themselves and love their smiles even more.

It’s essential to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours each day so they can do their job and straighten your teeth. But, you can remove your aligners for special occasions.
Like with traditional braces, Dr. Vo will recommend clear aligner patients to wear a retainer after treatment to maintain your new alignment—and your confident new smile.
Clear aligners may not be recommended for everybody, for example, if your child has some complex alignment or bite issues. Dr. Vo can advise you about what options are best for your teen.
