Your consultation with Dr. Vo

Your first visit to our San Antonio or Windcrest office is one of the most important appointments you’ll have with us. This is our chance to meet and get to know a bit about each other, discuss any concerns you have about your oral health, and take a closer look at your smile. During this consultation, we’ll also:

  • review your dental and medical history forms
  • create a customized treatment plan based on your unique needs
  • discuss the investment needed for your new smile

Our goal is to provide every patient with a positive and stress-free orthodontic experience, something that begins with this visit! You’ll receive a warm welcome from our team, and you can trust Dr. Vo to provide you with all the information you need to determine which treatment is right for you.

Your Guide To Adult Orthodontic Treatment

What adult treatment options are available?

Modern advancements in orthodontic technology mean we can now offer adult patients a variety of affordable treatment options. These are more comfortable and customizable than ever before, and in most cases, we can achieve the results you desire without any surgery or extractions. The following treatments are available to our adult patients.

Traditional metal braces

Traditional metal braces are an orthodontic staple and with good reason! This is one of our most efficient treatment options, especially for more severe or complicated cases. Today’s braces are made from high-quality stainless steel, but innovations in the design mean they’re much more comfortable than ever before. The total treatment time also tends to be shorter than it used to be.

Clear braces

Clear braces function in much the same way as traditional braces, but are made of ceramic or esthetic materials. The brackets can be clear, white, or tooth-colored, and for a nearly invisible treatment option, can be used with elastics or ties that are the same color. Clear braces can be an excellent choice for image-conscious patients, but because they are more delicate than metal braces, we generally only recommend them for older teens and adults.

 Lingual braces

InBrace lingual braces are another great option if you don’t want anyone to know you’re wearing braces. Lingual braces are attached to the back of your teeth, so they’re not visible from the front of your smile. They essentially work “behind the scenes” to straighten your smile!

Clear aligner therapy

Clear aligner therapy uses a series of clear, customized, removable aligners, so there’s no brackets or bands involved! We use several different brands in the office including Invisalign, Suresmile, and 3M Clarity Aligners. The aligners are custom-designed to fit snugly over the teeth and gently move them into the desired positions over time. Aligners are made of a flexible but strong thermoplastic resin and are changed every 1-2 weeks to continue shifting teeth.

All of these options can be a fantastic fit for busy adults! Dr. Vo will always take your unique needs, lifestyle, and budget into account before recommending the treatment method she feels would be the best fit for your smile.

Investing in a healthier, happier smile

Once Dr. Vo has completed a thorough examination of your mouth, she will create a customized treatment plan based on your specific needs, lifestyle, and goals. The treatment fee will be determined at this time as well. By the end of your consultation, we’ll outline everything your treatment plan includes, as well as  the investment needed for your new smile.

Because every smile is different, each patient responds to treatment in their own way. That means the total cost of treatment will always vary from case to case. When we outline your personalized treatment plan, it will include a breakdown of all applicable fees. There are never any hidden costs, and we’ll ensure you understand the investment required before we begin the active phase of your treatment.

At Texas Family Orthodontics, we believe everyone should have access to the orthodontic care they need and deserve! We offer a variety of payment options and plans for every budget. We’ll also work with you to maximize any orthodontic benefits you may have through your dental insurance.
